One go kart is listed as 126 cc, the other listed as 5hp. The mph listed for each is the same, so why call them something different?

Does the cc or hp mean something I am not aware of? Is there anything about either one that I should know...and obviously don't?
The cc engine says 4 stroke, 1 cylinder. The hp engine doesn't say anything else.
For an engine idiot, would that mean that one is better than the other...or is it just two ways of talking about the same thing?
